eBike Mods & Accessories

Updated: Jun 17, 2023

Welcome to a quick run down of the modifications and accessories done to the Magicycle Cruiser Pro. Be sure to check our YouTube video where we show how these look on the bike. Most of the same accessories were purchased for the Aventon Aventure e-bike as well but this blog and video series will cover how they are functioning on the Magicycle.

First up, the rear cargo bag. It is made by West Biking.

All in all, this is a great addition except it does not want to stay upright on the rear cargo tray. I have attempted several different configurations to secure this bag on the rear tray and no matter what I do, it tends to find a way to flop over to one side or the other, usually the right. Even empty, it will slide over. If you watch our YouTube channel, I show one of the ways I have rigged up some velcro, in an attempt to create a 4-point strap system vs the manufacturers 2-point straps. Once I am able to get to a sewing machine, I will work on adding my own straps and see if it works better.

Next is the bike lock, sorry no pictures. Purchased at Infinity Bicycles in Orange Beach, Alabama. A necessity with any bicycle especially an e-bike. This lock is very easy to use and setting the combination was easy as well. It is long enough to run through both wheels. We have other locks but this is the quick easy lock when riding to/from the local park or grocery store. Long term storage anywhere besides our garage would require other locks.

Next is the 'tube bag', sorry no pictures. Also purchased at Infinity Bicycles in Orange Beach, Alabama. It is an awesome way to travel with the phone and personal effects secured nearby. The phone, I have a Samsung Fold3, it fits snugly and is still accessible through the clear plastic. I am not certain if it is weather proof as I have not been out in the rain as of yet.

Now on to the Handlebar Extension.

I purchased this because there is very little room on the stock handlebars. The fact that it has USB ports made it even better because I had intentions of using it for the GoPro and that gives me a place to charge it. While the Magicycle does have a USB port to charge devices and I carry an external battery pack, most of the time, I didn't want to depend on that and risk depleting the ride battery for GoPro or phone. The one on the e-bike is very hard to get to in a rush. I ended up purchasing additional batteries and charger for this handle bar extension. It was relatively easy to install but I did not see taking it off the bike to charge the batteries. That would wear the fittings down quickly.

The 360 degree GoPro Mount. It was very easy to install and made very well. I like the ability to swivel the camera around without fighting the thumbscrew to adjust the camera. I have some cables that impede a full circle but I can overcome that with some minor adjustments and maybe a taller camera mount adapter.

I have a few other accessories and modifications planned but for now these were the high priority things needed for the way we are using the eBikes right now. Of course, more ways to mount the GoPro is on the list as well as lights. Mirrors arrived but not installed as of yet.

Last but certainly not least is the DoggyHut XL Trailer/Stroller, again found on Amazon.

There is a review on our Youtube channel that you should check out. It is a wonderful and safe way to be able to take your pet with you without worrying about them getting hurt or tired, should they run alongside you. It's a great for carrying cargo too, but limited to 100lbs, {XL version}.

This is perfect for any 1 of our 3 huskies...
