Operation Snapper Biscuit 2026

January 31,2026: After a brutal few weeks of ice, snow and cold temps, we dug the RV out of the ice (see our YouTube video) and headed SOUTH! Dubbed "Operation Snapper Biscuit" we were moving our operations to a warmer climate.
What in the world does all that mean? Well, simply put, we are sick of the Winter in Kentucky lifestyle. We prefer the warmer temperatures of Gulf Shores, Alabama. In 2022, we happened to pick a campground, also to avoid the November snowfall in Kentucky, and fell in love with the area! Each year since, we plan for the escape. While it never works out as we plan, we eventually make it.
Like most U.S. Military Veterans, Tom tends to think of the Wheel Epic Adventures more as a "deployment" than a vacation. Though some like to think we are on vacation, he is quick to remind them that he is still working his 9 to 5 job just like he did in the National Guard. "It is merely a deployment", he says.
So, his jokingly naming our annual get-away to Gulf Shores as "Operation Snapper Biscuit" caught on. On January 31, 2026, after a few months of delays, the deployment began. We carried out the orders and intended and convoyed down the interstate, leaving behind the cold, ice and snow.
