WEA Review: Outback RV Resort
A Wheel Epic Adventures true review
Eddyville, KY - Outback RV Resort - a small very quaint "resort" that hosts more 'permanent' and 'park models' than overnighters. Our stay was from June 18, 2022 thru June 23, 2022.
Entering the resort off KY-93 you are greeted by a very nice white picket fence that divides the property. To the left is a pool, small and not too close to the main road but visible. On the right, is the generous gravel overflow parking area. Upon entry off the main road, the drive was blocked by a gate and barely fit our convoy of 4 vehicles, 1 towing a 31' camper and the other towing a flat trailer for bikes/kayaks. Sadly, we had the entry drive blocked for a bit and one individual decided to pass us and push on through rather than wait. Not sure how we could have done any better on our part.
We were led to our spot. Along the way, you can't help but take notice of the abundance of 'permanent' setups in the park. All of the spots appear to be blacktop/paved and spacious. Our site, B-3, unfortunately had a hole in the blacktop that our rear steps just barely extended past. Using thin boards we had on hand for the feet helped stabilize them for use. Our friends, in a Class C Tioga, were in B-2 and the distance between the rigs was plentiful. A plastic picnic table was easy to move and a fire pit, we never used, was also at each site. There are only about 10 spots for guests to reserve. Just the other side of our friends was B-1 and there might have been 1 or two people in there and out of there during our stay. B-4 and B-5 were also occupied by different rigs during our stay. Our last day, during packing up, we met the owner of the rig in B-4 and he was an employee of Good Sam. Very nice gentleman who shared information on the Good Sam memberships and how parks he and his wife were traveling to became members. Rather interesting job to have and learn from him. Ironically, he came through the next park in TN and stopped by our camper to say "HELLO". See my last day walk through video on YouTube.
Overall - Outback RV Resort in Eddyville, KY gets 4 stars.
Positives - Good Sam member. The laundry facility was immaculate. The pool was perfect - friends visited a few times on the 100* days. The location was quiet and easy to get in and out. Sites were clean, level and spacious. Big rig friendly, tight but friendly. Overflow parking is free, abundant and easy access
Negatives - Lack of shady sites, as most are taken up by permanent rigs. Internet wasn't the greatest and that was confusing because there weren't very many people there to suck the bandwidth. Overflow parking is by the busy road, might not feel secure but from these sites you should be able to see. Dog park could be in a better location.
